To Have and To Hold is a poetic journey through life experiences heading towards self love and healing from one’s past. Many of these writings were inspired by an act of kindness, infatuation, or a sense of hope of what an individual may see for the future from a particular situation. Relationships in today’s society tend to lack sustenance due to the inability of deciphering love and lust. I too have sat on the side of the road of trying to figure out how to jump start the love train that has crashed and burned. Life’s course takes us through so many hills and valleys, which we tend to displace our emotional instability upon others when they come into our world. Most times we ignore the signs of those who are unwilling to commit wholeheartedly. They know you are not in a position to receive what they have to offer: which usually amounts to nothing. Yet somehow, we allow ourselves to become bait to the vultures that are preying on that small bit of hope which ends up being our weakness. We are in search of Love, not knowing that Love starts at home, inside of our own hearts. Then one day God opens our eyes, and we recognize our blessing. We begin to see that Love is patient, love is kind, it does not boast… We understand that God created the union for us To Have and To Hold forever
